Preview findings from Boards Count!
Executive briefing for nonprofit, public sector, and Latino community leaders will direct a spotlight squarely on the lack of Latino nonprofit leaders in Los Angeles County and California. Members of the media are invited.
Briefing presenters will summarize findings and answer questions about Boards Count!, the most extensive independent tabulation of Latino nonprofit board members ever conducted. Boards Count! examined more than 24,000 board members at almost 1,500 nonprofit organizations in 19 U.S. major metropolitan areas.
The briefing begins at 11 a.m. Pacific on Monday April 17 at the national headquarters of MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) in downtown Los Angeles.
Briefing co-hosts: Thomas A. Saenz, President & General Counsel of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), and Efrain Escobedo, President & CEO of the Center for Nonprofit Management-Southern California. A summary of Boards Count! findings will be presented by Latinos LEAD board members Sabrina De Santiago and Geoff Green. Patrick Salazar, Latinos LEAD Founder & Executive Director will moderate Q&A with guests and the media following the presentation.
