Sabrina De SantiagoGovernance Committee Chair

A native Angeleno, Sabrina was born and raised in northeast Los Angeles. After studying at Brown University, Sabrina worked in Washington D.C., serving as an advisor on appropriations, economic policy and outreach strategies to several Members of Congress, including former U.S. Senator Harry Reid (NV), U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton (NY), U.S. Senator Tom Udall (NM), and U.S. Representative Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA). She also served as Director of Government Affairs for the Center for American Progress (CAP) for economic and security issues.

Upon her return to California, Sabrina oversaw the Community Engagement unit at the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), the largest homeless Continuum of Care in the nation. Most recently, she served as Policy Director for Golden State Opportunity, a non-profit dedicated to ending poverty. In that role she helped secure millions of dollars for local community organizations that provide direct services to historically excluded communities.

She currently serves as the Senior Director for Government Affairs and Community Building for Think of Us, an organization working to transform child welfare, led and guided by people who have been directly impacted by this system.

Sabrina now lives in Alhambra, California with her husband and daughter. She is a fervent pizza and Dodgers fan.
