Andy Alcaraz

About Andy:

Andy is the Director of Data Infrastructure and Analytics for the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) at the Foundation for California Community Colleges. He joined CCGI in 2018 and is the principal architect of all of the organization’s data engineering and analytics efforts. Prior to joining CCGI, Andy led data analytics initiatives for one of the largest charter management organizations in Northern California. He also helped build more robust measures of school quality for the national nonprofit, GreatSchools.

Andy began his career in the classroom as a high school English teacher and has since dedicated himself to fighting for equity and justice in all facets of education, including policy, research, evaluation, and technology. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.  In his spare time, Andy enjoys reading, running, playing basketball, and spending time with his dog, Octavio Paws.
