Regional Project Coordinator
Position Summary:
Latinos LEAD is pleased to announce an opportunity for regional leadership of a new project designed to extend the successful Latinos LEAD executive recruiting model to communities in the U.S. Mountain West. The Regional Coordinator works with Latinos LEAD staff and consultants to carry out community relations, marketing, issue awareness, special event planning, executive recruiting services, and other project activities with thoroughness, professionalism, and efficiency. With active project development, this position could grow to full-time within one year. The Regional Coordinator reports to the Latinos LEAD Program Director.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning & Implementation – Assist with the development and implementation of New Pathways to Resilience by supporting community relations and enlisting a network of Latino-led organizations, Latino advisers, and Latino board prospects and candidates. The Coordinator will collaborate with Latinos LEAD staff, board, consultants, and volunteers to:
- Facilitate introductions to prominent Latino and mainstream community organizations and individuals to generate support for the project.
- Initiate invitations for Latinos LEAD to engage and enlist support from Latino-led organizations, mainstream public officials, and prominent regional leaders.
- Assist in the development, selection, and coordination of the project’s regional advisory group.
- Assist in the creation and delivery of project plans and materials to support the project’s introduction
- Assist with development of project events, training, outreach, public speaking and panelist engagements, and publicity/press relations
- Carry out and document ongoing communications with Latinos LEAD partner organizations, Latino community leaders, professional member associations, business associations, and specific individual prospects
Executive Recruiting – The long-term goal of the project is to increase the number of Latinos serving on nonprofit boards in the region. The Coordinator will undergo training and coaching as needed to support the Pathways to LEAD board member recruiting service. Actively developing leads, proposals, and contracts will generate greater awareness of the Latinos LEAD mission, the project’s goals, and will significantly increase the Coordinator’s time commitment and compensation.
- Operate the Latinos LEAD proprietary online recruiting platform to train and eventually lead nonprofit board member recruitment of Latino professionals.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of executive recruiting contract activities using basic Salesforce data management operations.
- Develop new recruiting opportunities by following up on leads and incoming inquiries, and where feasible, prepare proposals and secure executive search contracts
- Update Salesforce records to document activities and communications with nonprofit organization contacts and individual applicants/nominees
- Generate timely, thorough, and accurate reports on recruiting service activities and outcomes
- Ensure the thoroughness and accuracy of executive search materials through online research and direct communication with clients, applicants, and sources.
- Assess applicant eligibility by reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and carrying out online research to assess and confirm resume content, organization profiles, applicant experience, education, and other qualifications
- Engage, and encourage executive recruiting targets, sources, and nominees to promote governing board opportunities by directly contacting targets, prospects, sources, applicants and nominees.
- Follow up referrals and nominations from sources in a prompt and thorough manner
- Observe and suggest improvement to executive recruiting program operations to support efficiency, effectiveness, and ethical best practices
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Four years of experience in human resources, recruiting, or similar experience in a nonprofit organization, private sector corporation, or public sector agency
- Bachelor of arts/science degree required in business, communications, human resources management, or related field; master of arts preferred. Sufficient higher education and/or industry training to meet job qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce or similar database management application: account management, database record maintenance
- Professional (and prompt!) telephone, ZOOM, and in-person meeting skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and shared Google files and documents
- Organizational skills and a commitment to meet deadlines
- Must have excellent verbal and writing communication skills
- Manage sensitive and confidential personal and institutional information with integrity
- Reliable transportation required for out-of-office travel as required by the position

- Eagerness to advance professional development and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, consulting research and articles in professional publications, maintaining industry and community networks, and participating in professional skills training as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Part time in the near-term: 10-15 hours per week (will increase as executive recruiting contracts are acquired)
- Remote with occasional region meetings and training sessions
- Salary: $40 to $50 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
