*Actively addressing systemic barriers and biases to prevent experiences of discrimination and promote access to services.
*Providing culturally responsive services that respect and honor the diversity of colleagues, youth and families.
*Prioritizing open dialogue and feedback from colleagues, youth, families, and community partners to ensure accountability and continuous improvement of our practices.
Following up and following through on areas of both hope and harm to amplify successes and address challenges.
Focusing on educational achievement, economic mobility and wellness, Lincoln Families provides a continuum of preventative and responsive school- and community-based mental health support services to improve outcomes for children and families. Lincoln is committed to creating systemic change to strengthen work with families, increase access to services, and advance social justice and equity. Founded in 1883, Lincoln Families disrupts cycles of poverty and trauma, empowering children and families to build strong futures in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. School-based programs focus on educational engagement, literacy, and mental health wellness to narrow the opportunity gap for youth and level the academic playing field. Community-based programs strengthen family stability and permanency by providing critical mental health supports and resource navigation services. Lincoln’s approaches have a proven impact on youth in child welfare systems, who are at a greater risk of dropping out of school, experiencing unemployment, homelessness, incarcerations, and mental health challenges.
